We hope you have all had a lovely Easter Break. Spring is finally here and with lockdown being gradually lifted there is a sense of life “as we knew it” beginning to return.
Some highlights last term were the children learning the words and actions to the ‘How the dinosaurs died out…’ story adapted from ‘Little Rabbit Foo Foo’ by Michael Rosen – we hope you have been enjoying it being acted out at home! We now have two giant 3D dinosaurs on the wall In the pre-school room, Vern Velociraptor and Beryl Brontosaurus. These were decorated by the children using hand paints and large crayons etc.
We have now cleared and reassigned the whole of the outside space. Have a look when you drop off. We have more exciting things planned for this area.
Children at forest club had lots of adventures, having the chance to use tools, plant flowers and go on an Easter egg hunt in the forest.
Thank you all for continuing to support our fundraising efforts. There were so many wonderful costumes for World Book Day, with a Gruffalo, Mog, Stick Man, Princess Pearl and a dragon to name but a few and we were really grateful for all the donations to the Pre-School.
We have been delighted by the response to the Pre-School Lockdown Recipe Book and have received dozens of fantastic recipes from children and staff. It has now been compiled into a lovely book which we hope the children will treasure and will help to raise funds for the Pre-School. The recipe books will be £10 each. If you would like to order one please email bspsfundraising1@gmail.com stating how many you would like and we will send you payment details.
We have some exciting fundraising news as we are launching our very own Pre-School Lottery!
Every ticket you purchase raises funds for Bishop Sutton Pre-School and Forest Club. Tickets cost £1 per week. From each ticket you buy, 40p will be donated to the school of your choice and 36p will go towards a prize that must be won by someone supporting Bishop Sutton Pre-School and Forest Club. The first draw will be on 1st May. You can buy tickets here:

We have been busy planning more fundraising activities for this term. We are organising a sponsored toddle this term and the children will work as a team towards a 100-mile target, encouraging them to be active and get sponsored on the way. We will also be hosting a terra-cycle recycling point for Hasbro toys. Please do let Lin, Kate or someone on the committee know if you’re still interested in getting involved with the committee or helping out with any fundraising as we would love to hear from you. We will be holding an AGM in June to elect a new committee so do have a think if you’d like to get involved!

Thank you for continuing to support our Pre-school to enable it continue to provide a stimulating, safe, supportive and highly successful early years setting for our children. We hope you will also join us in thanking the wonderful Pre-School staff for all that they have done over this past year of COVID in particular. We are enormously grateful to each and every one of them for them having continued to provide so many fantastic experiences in such difficult circumstances. We look forward to seeing what adventures and fun the children get up to this term!
